StockPiler

StockPiler will import existing spreadsheet formatted stock and
options portfolio files, and append the information to your currently
opened account table. To successfully import stock data into
StockPiler’s environment, first get the file you want imported to a
folder on your local computer. Then use a spreadsheet application
such as MS Excel to arrange the data as in one of the formats
presented in either one of the; "Stocks Import Example No
Fees.csv" or "Stocks Import Example with Fees.csv" or "Options
Import Example No Fees.csv" or "Options Import Example with
Fees.csv" files, shipped with StockPiler. (Files are found in the
c:\Program Files\Spread Systems\StockPiler directory). Save the
data in comma separated (.CSV) format. File Save as…CSV
(Comma delimited *.csv). Close the file otherwise you will get
an error when you try to import.

Then menu click on StockPiler’s "File | Import External Portfolio" |
"Stocks Portfolio File", or "Options Portfolio File". Use the opened
explorer form to find and select the .CSV file you saved above.

If you have both options and stocks portfolios, import one set of data
first, then set up and import the second portfolio, appending the
StockPiler table and account in use. cannot be imported. Follow
any  of the accompanied examples in setting up your spreadsheet
 *.csv file for import.

Note: The columns must have headings, ie the first row of each
import file must have some form of text (column title).
StockPiler
always
deletes the first row of every file imported from other sources.

The example files provided in general represent those you would
get from your broker. As portfolio files vary from broker to broker
you may have to make adjustments in the location of the columns
of your individual files. Only the number of columns, in the exact
order, as exhibited in the example files will be imported.
Columns that need not be imported (such as ‘cash available’)
may be placed to the right of those columns that will be imported.

StockPiler pairs up the opening and closing transactions and
shows  the entire trade in one row (in one window). E.g. your first
trade in your broker’s spreadsheet is a Bought 200 HD at 29, you
have 35 other trades listed in your spreadsheet before you Sell 100
HD at 29.7. During the import process,
StockPiler scans the table
for this trade at 29.7 then pairs it up with the 200 shares Bot at 29,
and shows your $70 profit (for 100 shares). It then creates a new
record for the remaining Bot 100 shares, which shows up as one of
your open trades. The Notes field will show information on the split.

The "Stocks Import Example No Fees.csv" file looks like this.
Set up your *.csv file exactly like this if your broker's spreadsheet
shows no commissions.
StockPiler will determine the commissions:

Stocks Import Example No Fees.bmp (633654 bytes)

The "Stocks Import Example with Fees.csv" file looks like this.
Follow this example if your broker's spreadsheet does include
commissions and fees:

Stocks Import Example with Fees.bmp (419494 bytes)

The "Options Import Example No Fees.csv" file looks like this:

Options Import Example No Fees.bmp (799854 bytes)

This "Options Import Example with Fees.csv" file looks like this:

Options Import Example with Fees.bmp (781254 bytes)
